Good fisheries management is essential to ensure the sustainability of natural resources and marine ecosystems. The right strategy will determine the sustainability and balance of nature, as well as abundant resources. One approach that can be implemented in fisheries management is Ecosystem Approaches Fisheries Management (EAFM). EAFM is a concept that focuses on balancing socio-economic objectives in fisheries management while taking into account knowledge, information, and uncertainty in the ecosystem through integrated, comprehensive, and sustainable management.
In implementing EAFM, there are several principles that must be considered, the completeness and accuracy of data or information, facilities and infrastructure, and the main human resources who are qualified to apply this concept. As a follow-up to this, the Fisheries Resource Center of Indonesia represented by Mohamad Natsir, Ph.D. provided EAFM training which was held at the FRCI Office on XXX. This training was attended by 10 students from the Fisheries Diving Club FPIK IPB.
In the implementation of the training, there were four main topics delivered by Mohamad Natsir, Ph.D including
1. Definition of EAFM
2. EAFM indicators and their assessment
3. EAFM questionnaire matrix for field data collection
4. EAFM calculation model for different domains
