Vessel registration at the fishing vessel measurement booth at the Coastal Fishing Port (PPP) Morodemak is a routine monthly agenda supported in cooperation between Jepara Harbormaster and Port Authority (KSOP) Office, DKP Central Java and PPP Morodemak. The event was carried out yfor three days on January 25 – 27, 2022, at PPP Morodemak, Demak Regency, Central Java. Activities include disseminating information on the importance of licensing fishing vessels, processing new licensing documents and/or processing licensing document extensions, and measuring vessels. It is part of a collaborative event agenda by the Directorate of Fish Resource Management (PSDI) of the KKP. Specifically for the crab fishing vessels, the registration booth is located in the fishing vessel area. Licensing documents that can be processed during the event were Business Identification Number (NIB), Fishing Vessel Registration Certificate (TDKP), Small Pass, Fishery Business License (SIUP), and Fishing Permit (SIPI). The Rekam Nusantara Foundation assisted and supported the implementation of this event by inputting the necessary paperwork into an integrated system. The total number of vessels that received new and extended documents was 85 vessels for new NIB documents, 78 vessels for new TDKP documents, 55 vessels for extension of Small Pass, and 30 vessels for new Small Pass documents. This collaboration between governments, non-governmental organizations, and fishermen in the process of registering crab vessels in Demak Regency is expected to be an excellent example of increasing fishermen's compliance with the licensing process.
