Mayangan Coastal Fishing Port (PPP), East Java, is one of the fishing ports located on the main route of the North Coast of East Java. In order to find out the fishing activities at PPP Mayangan, the Fisheries Resource Center of Indonesia team visited PPP Mayangan on Saturday, December 19, 2020.

At the time of the visit, there were two transport ships carrying out fish loading and unloading activities. The carrier collected fish caught from several fishing vessels and stores the fish in freezers. The fishing gear generally used is a Bottom Longline with the fishing area around the Arafura Sea. The types of fish that are mostly landed are grouper (Epinephelus spp.) and snapper (Lutjanus spp. and Pristipomoides spp.). At the time of landing, the fish are unloaded from the ship and sorted by type and size which are then sent to a warehouse or processing facility using a refrigerated truck or pick-up truck.
