Tuna, snapper and seaweed are the main commodities of Indonesian marine products that are the focus of supply chain study projects, as part of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) COREMAP-CTI grant funding managed by the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas through the Indonesia Climate Change Trust Fund (ICCTF). On November 22 and 26, Bappenas together with the ICCTF and an implementing consortium consisting of PT Geohetrands, the Reef Check Indonesia Foundation, the IPB Business School, and the Rekam Jejak Alam Nusantara Foundation (REKAM), held a Focused Group Discussion as well as a Program Socialization on Biophysical Studies in Marine Protected Areas and Supply Chain and Market Analysis for Tuna, Snapper and Seaweed Commodities. The activity was carried out in a hybrid manner, namely through face-to-face meetings at the JS Luwansa Hotel Jakarta (22 November 2021) and the Hilton Bali Resort Nusa Dua (26 November 2021) and virtually via Zoom. The Focused Group Discussion invited representatives from central government agencies, such as the Ministry of Industry and the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, regional offices (Marine and Fisheries Service and Conservation Area Management UPT), as well as universities in Bali and Nusa Tenggara. In the first session of the focused group discussion in Jakarta, participants were grouped according to their occupations and scientific fields to exchange ideas and input regarding the functions and roles of stakeholders, as well as the availability of data needed for the management of tuna, red snapper, and seaweed, as well as marine conservation areas. At the next activity in Bali, ICCTF Director Tonny Wagey and Consortium Project Leader Asep Sukmara presented an explanation of ADB's COREMAP CTI activities and details of the Grant Package 7 program which became the activity umbrella. The results of the focused group discussions will then be used as baseline data and input in preparing the initial activity report.
