As a follow up to the Decree of the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries no.44/2023 on the Ocean Accounts Compilation Team, the Directorate General of Marine Spatial Planning of the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (MMAF) has held a meeting for the Ocean Accounts Compilation Team. This meeting took place on Tuesday, April 11th 2023 at the Aryaduta Hotel, Central Jakarta.

The event was attended by the leaders and members of the various working groups within the Ocean Accounts Compilation Team, consisting of various agencies such as the MMAF, the Geospatial Information Agency, the Ministry of Finance, Statistics Indonesia, National Development Planning Agency, Coordinating Ministry for Maritime & Investment Affairs, IPB University, and Rekam Nusantara Foundation unit Fisheries Resource Center of Indonesia.

The opening remarks were delivered by the Director General of Marine Spatial Planning - MMAF, Victor Gustaaf Manoppo, followed by the appreciation for the 2022 work team. The next agenda was an introduction to the Ocean Accounts Compilation Team, a presentation of pre-survey results, survey plans for 2023—which covered Anambas, Pieh, and Aru—, as well as a discussion for the 2023 work plan.

Through this meeting, it is hoped that communication and coordination will be established between the working groups involved, as well as ensuring a more optimal execution in compiling the Ocean Accounts.
