The 1st National Seminar on Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (Ocean National Seminar) is an event organized by the Marine Science Study Program, University of Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara on November 24th 2022 with the theme of "Transformation and Innovation of the Marine and Fisheries Sector in Response to the National Food Security Issue". It was broadcasted live from the Golden Palace Hotel, Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara, using a hybrid platform. The seminar was opened by the Head of the Marine Science Study Program at the University of Mataram, Dr. Nurliah, S.Pi., M.Si, presenting 5 resource persons and attended by more than 100 speakers.
Fisheries Resource Center of Indonesia (FRCI) sent four speakers, namely Oktavianto Prastyo Darmono, Ghina Suci Nur Adnina, Daisy Rahma Rizal, and Yasmin Azizah, who presented their papers regarding the sub-themes of social and economy of marine fisheries and sustainable marine fisheries management. The titles of the papers were: (1) Study of the Red Snapper Products Supply Chain in the Provinces of Bali, West Nusa Tenggara and East Nusa Tenggara; (2) Study of the White-tailed Lyretail Grouper (Variola albimarginata) Stock in Sape Waters, Cempi Bay and Waworada Bay; (3) Stock Conditions of Red Snapper (Lutjanus gibbus) in Cempi Bay, Waworada Bay and Sape Waters; and (4) Analysis of Red Snapper (Lutjanus malabaricus) Stock in the Alas Strait Waters. It is hoped that FRCI's participation in the 1st Ocean National Seminar will make a contribution in supporting sustainable marine and fisheries management.
