Indonesia is committed to conserve 30% of its marine area by year 2045—also known as 30x45 vision. To discuss the making of the document on aforementioned commitment to achieve its Marine Protected Area target, a meeting was organized by the Directorate of Marine Biodiversity and Conservation of the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries. The meeting was held in Fisheries Resource Center of Indonesia (FRCI) office, on April 17th 2023.

This discussion was supported by various conservation experts from multiple NGO’s, namely Yayasan Konservasi Cakrawala Indonesia (YKCI), WWF Indonesia, Yayasan Konservasi Alam Nusantara (YKAN), dan Rekam Nusantara Foundation unit FRCI.

Through this discussion, it is hoped that the upcoming document can showcase Indonesia's support in meeting the goals and targets of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD).
