The FRCI team conducted a joint training activity with Java’s North Coast (PANTURA) enumerators on Wednesday, November 25, 2020. This activity was carried out as an effort to refresh the technique of digitizing data collection and introducing threadfin bream and bigeye species in data collection. The training was held online using skype communication media and was attended by all enumerators working in PANTURA.

The main topics in the training are virtual data tabulation techniques using the KoBo Toolbox platform, identification of threadfin bream (Nemipteridae) and bigeye (Priacantidae), and measurement techniques. The purpose of the data collection is to analyze the level of exploitation experienced by threadfin bream and bigeye fish resources as the dominant fish captured. Threadfin bream and bigeye fish are considered as indicators of the health (fitness) of fish resources in WPP 712, especially in the Java Sea.
