FRCI Presented Papers at FAO Regional Workshop for A Network of Practitioners on Fishery Stock Assessment

The fisheries sector is a crucial part of food security and the economy. To assess the status of fisheries stocks assessment in the Asian region, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) held the FAO Regional Workshop for A Network of Practitioners on Fishery Stock Assessment, which took place in Bangkok, Thailand on 23-25 January 2023 using a hybrid platform. As representatives of Indonesia, Dr. Irfan Yulianto and Prof. Dr. Ir. Budy Wiryawan, M.Sc from the Fisheries Resource Center of Indonesia (FRCI) presented papers on Indonesian fisheries stocks.

Dr. Irfan Yulianto presented a paper titled ‘The Performance of Stock Indicators of Coral Leopard Grouper, Saleh Bay, WNT, Indonesia’, while Prof. Dr. Ir. Budy Wiryawan’s was titled ‘Red-bellied Yellowtail Fusilier Caesio cuning in The Thousand Islands Region, North Java Sea’. By participating in this event, FRCI hopes to build a network between regional fisheries stock assessment practitioners in Asia and promote the fisheries stock assessment in Indonesia.
